Circular Chess Game

In circular (byzantine) chess all pieces move as in traditional chess and pawns move along the circle. To see the final position of a pawn just click on any of them. Upon reaching the highlighted position a pawn becomes a queen. Castling in Byzantine chess is not available.

Draughts Game

From any position a draught can be moved up the grid except for A5 and A7 squares. From these a player can only move draughts down. From square B6 (a center one) a draught can be move any way.

Corners and Squares games

The objective of these games is to get to the position initially taken by your opponent and - obviously - make it quicker than he does.

In corners game you can move in any of the 8 directions.

In squares game - only along the grid, but not diagonally - i.e. only in 4 directions.

Game options

Easy mode - this mode is designed for beginners with little chess experience.
Rotate board - this option can be used for several purposes:
  • at any moment a player can exchange figures with the computer and continue playing the computer's figures;
  • move suggestion - by activating this mode the computer makes the next move;
  • when the play with a friend mode is activated this feature can be used for more comfortable board view for each player.

Show notation - toggles notation on and off.
Play with a friend - originally designed to provide functionality little more than a traditional chess board, this mode brings several opportunities other than simply playing with a friend. Engaging this mode in the middle of a game with the computer allows a player make several moves with the opponent's figures and alter the field situation to a user's needs.
Turn off game rules - the program does not check whether figures move in accordance with the rules. This mode is also used to quickly set the required position on the board.
